Sander Jennings: Beefcake, life coaching, and LGBTQ awareness

I am Jazz
(2015-2023) is a long-running reality show featuring Jazz Jennings, a girl who came out as trans at age four, and co-authored the eponymous children's book in 2014.  It begins when she is 14 years old, and follows her through college, facing transition issues, body dysphoria, bigotry, and of course the usual teenage problems at home and school.  Her parents, sister, and older brothers, twins Sander and Griffen, often had stories of their own.  Today Griffen is a lawyer, and Sander is a marketing consultant, life coach, and social influencer with over a million followers across social media platforms.  He is personally cisgender and heterosexual, but that doesn't mean that he can't devote his life to spreading LGBTQ awareness.

Along with beefcake. Tune in to see his physique, learn something about LGBT and trans people.

He and his friend Schuyler Bailar, author of He/She/They, answer Trans 101 questions like: "Is cisgender a slur?"  No, it refers to someone whose gender identity patches the sex they were assigned at birth.  Cisgender/ transgender is like straight/gay.

Or "If someone doesn't tell you that they're trans on the first meeting, are they tricking you?"  Of course not -- why did you assume that they were cisgender?  It's like heteronormativity, assuming that everyone in the world is heterosexual.

Here Sander and his friend Noah Withnoark answer the question: "Is it ok to ask a trans person about their genitals?  Answer: Not unless you're been out on a date, and things are getting hot.  Of course, you can always fantasize.

"Why am I always shirtless?"  Gee, I haven't got a clue.

More Sander after the break

Sander also offers a program of low-impact weight training for beginners, and advice on how to handle body-shaming and cyberbullying.  He gets some himself.

But you can't imagine the hate comments Sander got when he said he would be fine dating a trans woman. Here's one "They are grooming you to accept a man as a woman so you will have a relationship.  If you don't, you will be called transphobic. What a sad state of affairs that a straight man is FORCED to accept having sex 'differently.'"  Guess Sandor will have to learn to take the (eggplant emoji)."

Wait -- they are following Sander due to his LGBTQ activism, but they think trans women are men?   Sander responds that he's straight, so by definition he is only attracted to women. Cis or trans, who cares?

A lot of comments said something like "So you're gay now?  Dating a trans woman makes you gay."

This is homophobic, assuming that being gay is wrong or bad, something that makes you less of a person, and transphobic.  Remember, trans women are women, so if a man is interested, he is by definition straight or bi.

Riddle: "What's the one thing I like more than wearing shirts"?  I would have guessed "Wearing pants," but the answer is: "My family"

No, that's not his boyfriend, that's his brother Griffen, a tax attorney.

Here the two of them, plus their friend Brandon Taylor, go cliff diving in Alabama.  Alabama?
